In early November, BBH Executive Director, Susan Gittelman visited Atlanta as part of her involvement with City to City, a program of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce that is designed to share best practices with counterparts in other cities, and improve our own region by creating a strong network of collaboration between sectors.
While in Atlanta, the group focused on topics of talent and business attraction, overcoming racism, transportation, housing, healthcare, education, and workforce development in focused industry sectors [Fun Fact: Did you know that Atlanta is home to the second largest film studio in North America?!]. One highlight for Susan was a panel discussion at the National Center of Civil and Human Rights, where the group heard Director Derreck Kayongo’s story of refugee to CEO, and learned more about Atlanta’s struggle with fully implementing inclusivity and economic opportunity initiatives — a struggle Boston grapples with as well.
