Welcome to the July newsletter from B’nai B’rith Housing! In this summer edition, we’re excited to share updates on our recent community gatherings, along with Susan’s Op-ed. We’ll also share a peek into our recent staff retreat and other important happenings.
Summer Events at BBH Properties
This month, many of the BBH properties hosted a variety of community events to stay engaged with our residents. The Machon residents enjoyed a lively Luau, complete with festive activities and socializing. Parkway residents were treated to a visit from an ice cream truck providing a sweet break. The Coolidge residents participated in a bracelet-making class, fostering creativity.
We also celebrated the Fourth of July with a cookout at the Covenant House, bringing together residents for a day of good food and fellowship. These events are just a few examples of how we stay involved with our residents and create a sense of community. By organizing such activities, we aim to enhance the living experience at our properties and ensure our residents feel connected and supported. Thank you to everyone who participated and made these events a success.

Exciting developments are underway at the 1201 River Street site in Hyde Park. The completion of the Support of Excavation (SOE) phase, using cylinder poles and lagging boards, marks a significant milestone in our progress. Preparations are in full swing for the installation of permanent Redi-Rock Blocks along the Winthrop Street retaining wall, scheduled for this month. Following these preparations, the site will soon undergo excavation to prepare for foundations and footings, advancing our commitment to quality and timely construction.
BBH staff recently enjoyed a fun and relaxing summer staff retreat at Kimball Farms in Westford. The team gathered to bond, unwind, and strengthen camaraderie. The retreat provided a fantastic opportunity for team building and enjoying each other’s company in a playful and relaxed environment. We’re grateful to everyone who participated and made it a memorable day.
